Plans and color-coded spatial diagrams showing warm public and cool private zones

This project proposes the design of a hostel located in Spring Garden, outside of Pittsburgh. Utilizing color, the public spaces utilize warm colors as well as having larger spaces, with the rooms being small and comprised of cooler colors.

This intention is so that the residents staying in the hostel are encouraged to go out of their rooms into the public space and interact with each other, as the warmer spaces will feel more inviting and warm than the private spaces. The central courtyard with a mature tree anchors the building's social life.
